Shri KPP Nambiar

Shri KPP Nambiar was an Indian industrialist and technocrat, known for his work in the field of industrial development and technology. As the Secretary, Department of Electronics of the Government of India during 1986–89, Shri Nambiar was successful in initiating and implementing several new policy initiatives in research and development, specifically manufacturing and application of electronics throughout the country. He played a major role in developing the Indian electronics industry including the establishment of C-DAC, STPI, CEDTI and VLSI laboratories.

Shri MGK Menon, an Indian physicist and policy maker, had played a prominent role in the development of science and technology in India over four decades. One of his most important contributions was nurturing the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. While he was the Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister during 1986-89, he steered the vision for India’s progress through IT exports.

Shri Narasimhiah Seshagiri

Shri Narasimhiah Seshagiri was an Indian computer scientist, writer and the founding Director General of the National Informatics Centre, an apex organisation of the Government of India, handling its e-governance applications. He played a key role in the formulation of computer and software policies and establishment of STPI. He is also credited with many publications including Information systems for economies in transition.
